Legion Of Mary

 MARY: QUEEN OF THE ASSUMPTION

The Legion of Mary is an international association of Catholics who work for their own sanctification and for the conversion of the world. Active members attend weekly meetings and take part in spiritual works of mercy appropriate to their station in life. Auxiliary members pray the short prayer in our handbook daily in support of the active Legion of Mary.

The Assumption praesidium is Mary, Queen of the Assumption and meets Saturday mornings at 9:30 am in the Brides Room of the Buddeke House across from the church.

Current officers are Carmel Slattery, president, Bob Scherrer, vice-president, Chukwunonso Nwagu, secretary, and Diana Miller, treasurer. Present and past activities of our praesidium include distributing books and religious items outside of church on Saturday mornings, visiting nursing homes, maintaining the CD collection in the back of church, hosting a lunchtime gathering for Catholic faculty and staff at Vanderbilt, and coordinating 40 Days for Life for the parish. Other spiritual works of mercy can also be performed by members of the Legion.

Legion of Mary will meet on Saturday at 9:30 am in the Brides Room of the Buddeke House across from the church.
